Ready or not, here it comes, you can’t hide…Free Press Summer Fest is gonna find you, and make you rock out! Most people I’ve talked to myself included are buzzing about Miss Lauryn Hill. As a homage to the turban wearing song bird I made a colorful scarf head wrap to give a little color to today’s black and white look.
Black and white is one of the hot trends of summer 2014 but it never hurts to add a little P.O.C. I know not everyone has a turban laying around so I found a really easy tutorial for you. It’s how I made mine today:) To give my feminine white cotton dress a bit of a rock n roll edge I added a black fringe boot . I think the boots give the outfit a bit of a Kate Moss boho/rocker vibe. To complete my festival look I layered on the metal accessories!
FashionBillie Bit: Fashion is about getting creative. This is not the time of year to find suede fringe boots so I made my own! These are actually a old pair of over the knee boots that I cuffed at the knee and cut fringe onto. Voilà!

Free Press Summer Fest is upon us! While I am a music baby it’s the fashion that really excites me. This week I’ll have some fierce festival fashion for you.
I would never wear a high heel to the actual festival however, half of the festival fun are the great parties!! These knee high gladiators are all the rage this summer and nothing is more festival chic. I paired my Penny Loves Kenny gladiators with this Gypsy 05 high low tie-dye dress from Carrie Ann Boutique. The dress is the perfect length for lounging on the lawn or dancing the night away. It is also a very thin stretch cotton to keep you cool on those warm summer nights. The festival vibe is all about accessories, accessories, accessories! To complete the look I added this great headpiece and ring-bracelet by Gypsy Britt.

A lovely little bird recently graced me with the gift of a beautiful Hermès scarf, in their signature orange hue. As I admired the gorgeous silk scarf, I thought to myself …..”what the heck am I going to do with this”? The Hermès scarf has been a statement making accessory throughout the years with icons like Grace, Audrey, Jackie and even the Queen herself. Let’s face it, I’m no Grace! It was my task to make it modern and me! Today I wanted to add a bit of color to my outfit of nudes and I was also in a hurry, so 1,2,3… I tied my scarf into a triple knot collier.
The Hermès site itself has a lot of really cool ideas. You can download the “Silk Knots”app and get creative from head to toe.
FashionBillie Bit: Hermès taste on a Target budget? Shhhh… I won’t tell! Pick any scarf and get creative with colors. I bet your friends aren’t doing it yet!

Isn’t this so true? I know some people who have the ability to pick their outfits out each night for the following day. To me this is like predicting the future and I do not own a crystal ball. My style is dictated each morning by exactly how I feel. This morning I was feeling a little rock-n-roll!
FashionBillie Bit: Take a oversized band t-shirt from sleep to chic by adding wedges, oversized sunnies and boyfriend jeans!

Happy #ThrowBackTuesday!!! So lately I’ve been seeing all the young beauties like Taylor Swift and Anne Hathaway rocking the vintage 50’s bathing suits. Think high waist or one piece swimmies. Today I’ve partnered with Mod Cloth and WANELO to show you how to get the look with a modern twist! Mod Cloth has so many great vintage inspired pieces that you can make Uniquely You. The best part is… fabulous fashion is only a click away when you use WANELO!!
I gave this 50’s inspired Beach Blanket Bingo One Piece in Red a modern twist by adding a kimono inspired top. Scratching your head thinking…Flowers and polka dots? Well, with Marilyn in mind I added the perfect cat eyed sunnies and black oversized hat. The black hat complements the black fringe in the kimono tying the outfit together without looking too matchy-matchy. To complete the look, from sea to shining sea, I added a gold, “There’s a Map for That Necklace” and wrapped it up with the perfect bow wedges. What day at the beach is complete without some “Tunes by the Dunes” and a floating pretzel?

This weekend I had the great advantage of meeting Miss Tori and Desiree, creators of All The Wire jewelry. These sisters are fashionably creative in their own right. However, you might recognize Tori Gonzales as bestie to Courtney Kerr (Fashion Blogger and Realty Star-Courtney Loves Dallas on BravoTV). These girls jewelry line is fresh and the story behind it literally brought me to tears. No Joke, total sap!!
Have you ever asked someone how much they love you? Maybe you get a, “To the moon and back” or “Arms stretched wide… Thisssss Much! ”. Well when Desiree asked her soon to be husband this question, his response of “a lot”, simply wouldn’t do. After a bit of thinking he pointed at the telephone wires that ran along the road for as far as the eye could see and said “All The Wire”. Above ground and below. He loved her more than All The Wire. I DIE!!! I’m also probably telling this story totally wrong. For the full story- Click Here
Basically this line allows you to recognize whomever you love more than “All The Wire”. It may be your mom, sister, boyfriend or bestie but you have to check it out today!

The new season of the FX series American Horror Story: Coven is terrifyingly fashionable. There is gore galore but for the sake of fashion I cover my eyes and tune in every week. Coven’s witchy fashion proves you don’t have to bare it all to be sexy. Black is the color, Parisian chic is the style and heads are what will turn! This is my Texas spin on Coven style. Forgive the background. When inspiration hits, one must act
Take a cue from Coven fashion and add black leather booties to your fall shopping list! Booties upgrade any outfit from ho-hum to yum-yum! These Prada booties are my lust. Get these Enzo Angiolini for a STYLE STEAL, regularly $180 now only $103!!

Instagram shazam! Today I thought I would pull out a pic from Halloween instagram past.
This vampire look is my favorite Halloween costume to date. It was also the easiest! STYLE STEAL: The only thing I purchased for this costume were $25 moldable canine vampire fangs. For my outfit I grabbed black tights, tall boots and a flowy, angelic, sheer cream top. I then accessorized with some bling. The makeup is what is key!
1. Apply a very light foundation and powder all over your face.
2. Use a plum/light purple shadow to contour your cheekbones, under eyes, nose and temples.
3. Create a heavy smoky eye with black and deep plum shadows.
4. Line lips with black liner then fill in with deep red. It creates the ombre look.
5. Dab two bite marks on your neck.
Voila, Scary Pretty!

From the deepest, darkest part of my closet, my leopard print scarf called to me this morning. Fall was in the air but here in Houston so were 85 degree temperatures. Bansri scarf necklace to the rescue! I found this great piece on Haute Look. They usually have a jewelry sale each month where you can get quality, unique jewelry at half the cost.
Why is my drink wearing Bansri you ask? Well this little veggie filled pick me up is from a local juice bar called Juicy In The Sky. Beetles flash back “Juicy In The Sky WIth Diamonds…or Bansri”
