Taco Tuesday = Workout Wednesday

Today I’ve teamed up with Mighty Aphrodity to work up a fashionable sweat!

Mighty Aphrodity Futness 2

Nothing gets me more excited for the gym than a new outfit. Especially one that is fashionable and functional.

Why this outfit?

Let’s start with the tank. This cranberry tank fits so perfectly, highlighting my assets, while holding me in with a built in bra. No more smushed chest sports bras!! Ohh… it also has cool animal print detailing at the waist to create a slimming effect.

Now on to the liquid leggings. Swoon! I fell in love as soon as a saw these bad boys. Not only do the look really cool, they have a high waist (muffin top camo) and a mesh side panel creating a long lean look.

Who doesn’t want to feel slim while getting slim? I’d say that is activewear outfit perfection!

STREET STYLE SNEAKER TREND

IMG_0085

In 2014 sneakers paired with dresses were all the rage. The trend was not so present this year on the runways but hot, hot, hot in streetwear. Today I show you how you can rock the streetwear trend too!!

For my look today I paired an ultra femme Tibi dress with my Converse Chuck T’s. These Chuck Taylors are high-top but I folded them down to get some ankle action. While pairing high-tops with a longer skirt may look cool proportionately, I don’t think it’s the most flattering for first timers. I’d go with a lower rise like I did today with my Converse. I also chose to stick with a monochromatic look, black dress, black kicks. This gives a more streamlined look instead of, “Hey I’m here, and so are my white sneakers”!! For the finishing touch I added some power girl bling.
Now rest those tootsies and step out in street style sneaker fashion!

SUMMER SHOPPING LIST

Screen Shot 2015-06-04 at 2.06.06 PM

Happy Thursday! Today I thought I’d share a glimpse into my everyday, beyond the blog, into what I really do. Being a personal stylist is a bit like Christmas, every day.

I may not always have the new Gucci Bamboo Handle Handbag for summer or the Perfect Barbie Pink Saint Laurent Classic Tribute Sandal but you can bet my clients will. Why?

Because I shop for them like it’s Christmas every day!! Many people ask, “why would someone with style need a stylist?” It’s simple, for many of my clients time is money. From busy business men and women, to moms on the go, I make their lives more simple. I provide the luxury of doing the thinking, shopping and returning for them. If you have ever spent the day in a store trying on jeans, you understand where I’m coming from. While we all want the Saint Laurent and Gucci Christmas list, sometimes that’s just not realistic.

Today I’ve pulled my Christmas in Summer picks for you. They are on the house and budget friendly. Shop away!!

FashionBillie Bit: YSL is now Saint Laurent for their ready-to-wear line, which let’s face it, that’s what most of us wear:) Now you can sound smart in front of your friends. XO

Alice In Wonderland: The Wrap Dress of Summer

TIBI Wrap Dress

Fairy Tales don’t happen everyday but something about this wrap dress from the Tibi 2015 Spring collection made me feel like I was in one. This dress is perfect for so many occasions because of it’s versatility. You can dress it up for a wedding with a formal heel, dress it down with a summer wedge or sandal, or pair it with a blazer and over the knee boot that will take you into fall.

I think this dress is ultra femme, so for my look today, I paired with gladiator sandals to give it a bit of edge.

How to: Layer With Style

How To Layer

Spring layering is not something I am accustomed to, being a Texas girl. It’s usually so hot in Houston, even thinking of layering is laughable. Also, for a girl I always felt layering adds layers, which adds size, which no girl wants. Being here in New York I’ve had more of an opportunity to experiment with layering and have found if done the right way, it can add a whole other fashionable “layer” to your style.

How to Layer

Floppy Fedora

The key is to start with a great base. The lightweight undershirt in my look today adds dimension with it’s high-low cut, without adding bulk. I then layered with a robins egg blue cropped sweatshirt, white skinny jean and accessorized with a floppy fedora.
I’ve picked some great base tops below that will have you layering in no time!

Cinco de Mayo Sparkle

There is nothing a southern girl loves more than a holiday which requires margaritas, oh yea, and sparkles. Today I want to share my glitter iPhone case with you. It just makes me happy!! It makes Suzanne Somers, you know Chrissy Snow a.k.a thigh master, the savior of women’s thighs everywhere, well it makes her happy too. In a recent run-in she stopped me to admire the sparkly flow.

Loving Hats Right Now

Braided Fedora

I’ve always shied away from hats. Something about having a melon the size of Orbit (Astros fans will get my reference) made hats one accessory this girl just didn’t do. They always made me feel goofy. But Oh, how things have changed!!!! Here are just a few reasons I’m loving hats right now…

Hats can be your best friend on a bad hair, I don’t want to wear makeup day. Hats shield your gorgeous gams from the harmful rays of the sun. Hats instantly make any outfit look much more stylish. Below are some of my faves to take you from sun protection to sassy style in no time!!

Seeing White

Flora Mia Yvonne Dress 1

Spring is in the air and I am seeing white!!! Investing in off-white, winter white, cream or any light colored pieces can be tricky. So often whites tend to be sheer or show every lump and bump you never knew you had. My dress today from Flora + Mia solves all of those common white woes!!

The Yvonne Dress by Blaque Label is lined, providing overall coverage. The dress and lining have just a hint of spandex to hug your curves while disguising any problem areas. My favorite aspect of this dress is the scalloped hem, it elongates the legs without being a micro-mini.

STYLE STEAL: I paired with my favorite shoe of spring, the slip-on sneaker! Below I have found a few, on sale, just for you!!!

Bonnie & Clyde Style Swag

City Hats Fedora FashionBillie

I’m falling for fedoras, especially this navy wool asymmetrical style I found in a great hat shop in Soho. The slight swag of the hat is so Bonnie & Clyde prohibition gangster. It also really fits one of my personal style secrets… Sometimes showing less is more. The hat gives a bit of mystery. Not to mention you can be ready in a flash, dirty hair and all!!

FashionBillie Bit:  High-waisted bell-bottoms have my heart and it just so happens they are on point with 2015 trends. The high waist conceals any of those trouble areas, while the cut of bell bottom or (flare) works at lengthening those legs! What’s not to love?
