In 2014 sneakers paired with dresses were all the rage. The trend was not so present this year on the runways but hot, hot, hot in streetwear. Today I show you how you can rock the streetwear trend too!!
For my look today I paired an ultra femme Tibi dress with my Converse Chuck T’s. These Chuck Taylors are high-top but I folded them down to get some ankle action. While pairing high-tops with a longer skirt may look cool proportionately, I don’t think it’s the most flattering for first timers. I’d go with a lower rise like I did today with my Converse. I also chose to stick with a monochromatic look, black dress, black kicks. This gives a more streamlined look instead of, “Hey I’m here, and so are my white sneakers”!! For the finishing touch I added some power girl bling.
Now rest those tootsies and step out in street style sneaker fashion!

Spring is in the air and I am seeing white!!! Investing in off-white, winter white, cream or any light colored pieces can be tricky. So often whites tend to be sheer or show every lump and bump you never knew you had. My dress today from Flora + Mia solves all of those common white woes!!
The Yvonne Dress by Blaque Label is lined, providing overall coverage. The dress and lining have just a hint of spandex to hug your curves while disguising any problem areas. My favorite aspect of this dress is the scalloped hem, it elongates the legs without being a micro-mini.
STYLE STEAL: I paired with my favorite shoe of spring, the slip-on sneaker! Below I have found a few, on sale, just for you!!!

Just because I’m In New York doesn’t mean I’ve forgot about the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo!!! HLSR is like Christmas for Houstonians. Cook-off is Christmas Eve, lots of yummy B-B-Q and three nights of libation filled follies. Then comes Christmas with the big hitters in country and pop music. The HLSR takes over the month of March in Houston. So what’s a cowgirl to wear?
Recently I styled Sofia Collections Spring Collection. All of her pieces are handmade Italian silk and get this machine washable!! B-B-Q stains beware. LOL
FashionBillie Bit: Always go with versatile pieces when adding to your wardrobe. The Sofia Dress below can be worn as a flowing spring dress, belted, or throw it over some leggings and wear as a tunic top.

One of the many amazing things about New York is all of their yummy and diverse food. After a day of exploring I stumbled upon what I thought was a quaint cafe. To my surprise it was one of America’s most acclaimed and popular restaurants, Union Square Cafe!
Their Whole Wheat Pappardelle and Cara Cara Orange Salad is to die for!! They also make a mean Old Fashioned. The perfect drink to warm you on these cold New York Days. Make sure to check out Union Square Cafe while in the City, they serve American cuisine using local ingredients.

One thing I am learning very fast is… when it’s cold, you get creative. My original outfit today featured my fave Donna Karan metallic oxfords. They are so very comfortable, as all oxfords should be. However, as the snow began to fall I realized bare ankles were a bad idea.
For todays Central Park exploring outfit, I traded in my oxfords for my combat boots and doubled up my over the knee socks for a nice leg warmer. I dressed up my ROAR Chaser Brand T-shirt and wool J.Crew cap with an unexpected tuxedo blazer.
After the photos I quickly found my parka and ran to the nearest thawing area. He, he:)
FashionBillie Bit: Back in the day (a.k.a 17th century), men’s shoes were cut smaller than their feet to match the fashion of the time…. wait for it… wait for it… To have the appearence of smaller feet!!! No lie! So as you can imagine men’s shoes were not comfortable until the ol’ oxford came along! The oxford was one of the first comfortable men’s laced shoes.
I found my ROAR T-shirt on Rue lala where I get lots of great pieces for a steal. Click Here to get deals on Rue lala

Mixing textures is all the rage right now! Think denim and silk or leather and lace.
With the right combo you can add versatility to that ho, hum closet and accentuate those assets.
The trick is to start with mixing only two textures. Wear your thicker texture in the area you would like to accentuate and your lighter texture in the area you would like to minimize. Trick-o-the-Eye.
The same theory applies If we are talking patterns. Wear your larger print in the where you want to highlight and use your smaller print to camouflage those trouble areas.
Just a girl playing in the country:)
I was feeling a bit CoCo Chanel!
Then I realized where I was.
I love my Tory’s!!
