Happy Thursday! Today I thought I’d share a glimpse into my everyday, beyond the blog, into what I really do. Being a personal stylist is a bit like Christmas, every day.
I may not always have the new Gucci Bamboo Handle Handbag for summer or the Perfect Barbie Pink Saint Laurent Classic Tribute Sandal but you can bet my clients will. Why?
Because I shop for them like it’s Christmas every day!! Many people ask, “why would someone with style need a stylist?” It’s simple, for many of my clients time is money. From busy business men and women, to moms on the go, I make their lives more simple. I provide the luxury of doing the thinking, shopping and returning for them. If you have ever spent the day in a store trying on jeans, you understand where I’m coming from. While we all want the Saint Laurent and Gucci Christmas list, sometimes that’s just not realistic.
Today I’ve pulled my Christmas in Summer picks for you. They are on the house and budget friendly. Shop away!!
FashionBillie Bit: YSL is now Saint Laurent for their ready-to-wear line, which let’s face it, that’s what most of us wear:) Now you can sound smart in front of your friends. XO
Spring layering is not something I am accustomed to, being a Texas girl. It’s usually so hot in Houston, even thinking of layering is laughable. Also, for a girl I always felt layering adds layers, which adds size, which no girl wants. Being here in New York I’ve had more of an opportunity to experiment with layering and have found if done the right way, it can add a whole other fashionable “layer” to your style.
The key is to start with a great base. The lightweight undershirt in my look today adds dimension with it’s high-low cut, without adding bulk. I then layered with a robins egg blue cropped sweatshirt, white skinny jean and accessorized with a floppy fedora.
I’ve picked some great base tops below that will have you layering in no time!

I’ve always shied away from hats. Something about having a melon the size of Orbit (Astros fans will get my reference) made hats one accessory this girl just didn’t do. They always made me feel goofy. But Oh, how things have changed!!!! Here are just a few reasons I’m loving hats right now…
Hats can be your best friend on a bad hair, I don’t want to wear makeup day. Hats shield your gorgeous gams from the harmful rays of the sun. Hats instantly make any outfit look much more stylish. Below are some of my faves to take you from sun protection to sassy style in no time!!

With past roots in Colorado, I’m a Broncos fan. To my surprise, Forever21 has some great vintage football team t-shirts right now.
Check out this stylish Denver Broncos t-shirt I found right here in Houston!

Tis the season for winter warmth. In Texas that means a light weight ventilated sweater.
I found this STYLE STEAL at Forever 21 and it’s less than $25!!!
Honestly, with the bright colors you can sport this great find year round. Just add or subtract layers depending on the temperature. Imagine a cool breeze blowing on the beach and throwing this over your swimsuit. STYLE STEAL and multi-seasonal use!
Today I layered and paired this great sweater. Layered, with a high-low sheer blouse to add a feminine touch. Paired, with a leopard pump to add a bit of ROAR!

This weekend I found myself in a little place called La Grange, Texas. La Grange is known for its beautiful Colorado river, the Chicken Ranch which inspired the musical play, Best Little Whore House in Texas, and the ZZ Top song “La Grange,” and it’s where I grew up!
Proof that really great things come from small places;)
On to the fashion…
This girl does not wear strapless anything! Soooo…I took this adorable tube top maxi dress and turned it into my skirt! To get my country cool vibe I added a white tank, cowboy boots and feather earrings. Tada!!!
These boots only come out once a year and that is for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I made an exception this weekend to save my favorite flip flops from the dirt.
I absolutely love these feather earrings! I usually wear them with my really modern clothes to bring in a boho vibe but I went all country this weekend.

‘80s fashion has been working its way back into style for a while now. The secret is taking one ‘80s trend you love and integrating it with your wardrobe today. Just take a look— you probably already have ‘80s inspired pieces like leggings, oversized shirts, stonewash, neon or leopard in your closet.
To give ‘80s favorite Miami Vice a modern twist, I created this Houston Vice look. I paired a cold shoulder cut out top which is also a must this spring with cream/white slacks and accessorized with a few bangles and gold cuff.
