How to Mix Textures

Mixing textures is all the rage right now! Think denim and silk or leather and lace.

With the right combo you can add versatility to that ho, hum closet and accentuate those assets.

The trick is to start with mixing only two textures. Wear your thicker texture in the area you would like to accentuate and your lighter texture in the area you would like to minimize. Trick-o-the-Eye.

The same theory applies If we are talking patterns. Wear your larger print in the where you want to highlight and use your smaller print to camouflage those trouble areas.

Summer Leather and How to Wear It!

Leather is Hot, Hot, Hot this summer and I’m not talking heat! The great thing about the summer leather trend is it will easily transition into fall.

Take this brick red a-line leather skirt I found at H&M last year. This skirt was one of my winter staples but was packed away the first day we hit 90 degrees here in Houston. Plus who would wear such a summer faux pas?

Me!! By pairing my leather skirt with a sleeveless collared shirt and retro platform heels we were back in business for the summer. Literally! I recommend spicing up you work or social wardrobe with some of the amazing finds below.
