During late June and early July I embarked on a week and a half journey through Italy. My adventure began on the north west coast in the quiet beach town of Forte Dei Marmi. Nestled between the tip of the Alps and Versilia coast, I can see why this little gem of a town is known as the Hamptons of Italy. Luxury stores line the quaint streets where fashionable people shop, bike and dine on delicious fare. Their golden tans and natural grooming seemed to make the simplest of outfits oh, so chic.
I’ve listed below some recommendations for visiting Forte Dei Marmi. To get a great deal on flights with the lowest options available I used Booking Buddy! Click Here to check them out for your next trip!
Forte Dei Marmi
What to pack: This is a laid back seaside city where casual is cool. Keep in mind this is a luxurious kind of casual. Sun dresses, swim wear, casual beach attire, wedges and fashionable sneakers or booties with your dresses is a must.
Where to stay: On the higher end, The Grand Hotel Imperial is a 5 star, newly constructed luxury hotel with an amazing spa, pool for lounging, free bikes on property for exploring the city and impeccable service. For a budget friendly option there is the Hotel Goya, a 4 star hotel located in the city center. This hotel is very clean with friendly service however there is no pool or spa. It’s key to pay attention to the star ratings in Italy. The hotels are all well kept and clean however bathroom/shower size and amenities vary grately.
Where To Eat: Bistrot is a beachside restaurant with a Michelin Star rating. Obviously seafood is the number one thing to eat here. The sashimi is a must but I have to say the steak here is one of the best I have ever tasted. Coming from a Texas girl that is a bold statement! For a quick bite in town try the ravioli branzino and an aperol spritz at La Milanese.
What to see and do: Minerva Beach Resort is so relaxing and the views are to die for. You can rent cabanas on the beach, with afternoon treats of cold fruit slices to cool you off. Rent Bikes for the day to explore the town.
What I learned: Less is more sometimes when it comes to your beauty routine. Being a Texas girl big hair and perfect makeup are taught at birth. The simplicity of natural hair and makeup made the people in Forte Dei Marmi seem so chic.
After a few days relaxing in my little slice of heaven, it was time to head south, for some fun in Capri! Check back soon for the second half of my Italian Summer with adventures in Capri…
Hey there my beautiful birds! I’m sorry you haven’t received any recent posts. I have been on a long needed sabbatical but I’m baaaaccckkk and want to catch you up on all the amazing things this summer had in store.
First things first, A last minute opportunity, turned into the trip of a lifetime, and I found myself in Italy for two weeks. I ate, drank and explored beginning at the northern coast and continued all the way down to Capri. Ahh… Capri… This little island was simply magical. I’ll share some of my pics and tips with you but you can also read more about my Italian adventures on the fashion site Trendabl.
Yes, Trendabl!! I’m now sharing fashion, beauty and travel tips, for this really cool fashion site, as a Trendabl Trendsetter. I’m pretty excited about it!! Diane Von Furstenberg, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and Nicky Hilton are just a few of the fashion powerhouses behind this cool site and it’s also an app!!
And last but certainly not least… When I’m not talking to the Trendies or traveling abroad I’ve been enjoying my summer beachside in the Hamptons. Follow me on Instagram to stay up to date on my fierce fashion and travels.
In 2014 sneakers paired with dresses were all the rage. The trend was not so present this year on the runways but hot, hot, hot in streetwear. Today I show you how you can rock the streetwear trend too!!
For my look today I paired an ultra femme Tibi dress with my Converse Chuck T’s. These Chuck Taylors are high-top but I folded them down to get some ankle action. While pairing high-tops with a longer skirt may look cool proportionately, I don’t think it’s the most flattering for first timers. I’d go with a lower rise like I did today with my Converse. I also chose to stick with a monochromatic look, black dress, black kicks. This gives a more streamlined look instead of, “Hey I’m here, and so are my white sneakers”!! For the finishing touch I added some power girl bling.
Now rest those tootsies and step out in street style sneaker fashion!

Happy Thursday! Today I thought I’d share a glimpse into my everyday, beyond the blog, into what I really do. Being a personal stylist is a bit like Christmas, every day.
I may not always have the new Gucci Bamboo Handle Handbag for summer or the Perfect Barbie Pink Saint Laurent Classic Tribute Sandal but you can bet my clients will. Why?
Because I shop for them like it’s Christmas every day!! Many people ask, “why would someone with style need a stylist?” It’s simple, for many of my clients time is money. From busy business men and women, to moms on the go, I make their lives more simple. I provide the luxury of doing the thinking, shopping and returning for them. If you have ever spent the day in a store trying on jeans, you understand where I’m coming from. While we all want the Saint Laurent and Gucci Christmas list, sometimes that’s just not realistic.
Today I’ve pulled my Christmas in Summer picks for you. They are on the house and budget friendly. Shop away!!
FashionBillie Bit: YSL is now Saint Laurent for their ready-to-wear line, which let’s face it, that’s what most of us wear:) Now you can sound smart in front of your friends. XO
Fairy Tales don’t happen everyday but something about this wrap dress from the Tibi 2015 Spring collection made me feel like I was in one. This dress is perfect for so many occasions because of it’s versatility. You can dress it up for a wedding with a formal heel, dress it down with a summer wedge or sandal, or pair it with a blazer and over the knee boot that will take you into fall.
I think this dress is ultra femme, so for my look today, I paired with gladiator sandals to give it a bit of edge.

With Memorial Day on our heels, the question of proper etiquette when wearing white always seems to arise. The questions I receive are mainly about wearing white shoes. Sooo…
What are the rules to rocking white shoes?
As my former #girlboss would say, “white shoes are never appropriate, ever”. While I agree on many levels, there are some exceptions, if you know the rules!
1. Grooming is key! Nothing makes a white pair of shoes look better than proper grooming. According to fashion designer, Michael Kors, “They look best with self-tanner and a good pedicure, preferably not red nails.” today.com
2. Pair with a bold outfit, like my electric orange maxi dress. A statement making outfit will balance out the white shoe so they don’t walk into the room before you. Have you ever heard someone say, “That dress wore her, she didn’t wear the dress?” Same goes for white shoes.
3. Go with a strappy sandal or slip-on summer sneaker. You don’t want anything too clunky that will distract from your outfit. I’m really into the jewel embellished sandal trend right now like in my picks at the bottom of the page.
Along with my white sandals today, I mixed a few of 2015’s hottest trends with this electric orange cut-out dress from Azuz Boutique in Houston, mirrored sunnies and turquoise opal bling!
No Beyonce fan needed today. Mother Nature provided my wind blown look. LOL Forgive the cray cray hair.

Today I have a flash back Friday, that will give you a glimpse, into your fashionable future. Here is the ‘skinny’… Seventies fashion is in full effect for Fall 2015. Block heels, Mary Janes and groovy detailing were all the rage at the Nicholas Kirkwood Press Preview. ‘Can you dig?’
FashionBillie Bit: Keep those sexy over-the-knee boots, they are still trending for Fall 2015.
I have found the best nail place and manicurist IN THE WORLD!!!! Paint Box caught my attention because of their really creative nail art. They have really trendy yet sophisticated options, no flowers and palm trees here. If you live in New York or are even here on vacation, you have to try them out.
My manicurist Elissa gave me the perfect Rhi, Rhi inspired pointy cat like claws. If you get your nails did on the reg, you feel my pain, as to how hard it is to get someone who can do this right. In fact, she shaped them so perfectly, I skipped the cracked gold overlay nail art and left them with the base coat only. Funny enough it’s called “I need a tan”, which I do. These are my real nails btw.
FashionBillie Bit: Make your appointment a few days ahead of time. They do book up.

One thing I am learning very fast is… when it’s cold, you get creative. My original outfit today featured my fave Donna Karan metallic oxfords. They are so very comfortable, as all oxfords should be. However, as the snow began to fall I realized bare ankles were a bad idea.
For todays Central Park exploring outfit, I traded in my oxfords for my combat boots and doubled up my over the knee socks for a nice leg warmer. I dressed up my ROAR Chaser Brand T-shirt and wool J.Crew cap with an unexpected tuxedo blazer.
After the photos I quickly found my parka and ran to the nearest thawing area. He, he:)
FashionBillie Bit: Back in the day (a.k.a 17th century), men’s shoes were cut smaller than their feet to match the fashion of the time…. wait for it… wait for it… To have the appearence of smaller feet!!! No lie! So as you can imagine men’s shoes were not comfortable until the ol’ oxford came along! The oxford was one of the first comfortable men’s laced shoes.
I found my ROAR T-shirt on Rue lala where I get lots of great pieces for a steal. Click Here to get deals on Rue lala
